TCL has contracted with Soderberg Construction to install a 2.3-mile long pipeline to convey landfill leachate to the Caribou Utilities District (“CUD”) facility on the Grimes Rd. in Caribou. This project will eliminate approximately 1,000 truck trips per year currently necessary to haul this wastewater to CUD. Soderberg is making good progress, with approximately ½ of the pipeline installed by the first of June. Still remaining however, is the effort to cross the Little Madawaska River; the Grimes Mill Rd.; and the Grimes Rd. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September. Read More
