TCL'S award winning recycling program makes it easy and convenient for both residents and businesses to recycle household products and office paper.
Whether you live alone, are a member of a large family, work alone, or work with several others your commitment to recycling really is important.
Igloo Recycling Centers are located in fifteen (15) communities throughout Central and Northern Aroostook County. Every effort has been made to place the Centers in an easily accessible common area in each community such as close to the Post Office, Municipal Office, or
grocery store.
A FEW TIPS TO CONSIDER AS YOU DEVELOP YOUR PLAN
You do not need to purchase expensive recycling bins or containers to
hold your recyclables-consider storing your recyclables in paper bags ,boxes (which are recyclable), or plastic buckets.
Prepare your items for recycling as you use them and don't attempt to do it all at once.
Set aside a few minutes each week to drop off what you have collected to the Igloo Recycling Center
.
Include visiting the drop off center in
with your other errands such as picking up the mail, going to the grocery store, or picking up the Sunday newspaper.
Those of you with limited space can still recycle. Use stackable bins or if you
live in an apartment complex, encourage your neighbors to recycle and develop a "common drop off area" in your complex and share in the responsibility of taking
the collected recyclables to the Igloo Recycling Center.
Storage for your household recyclables for one month requires just a 3' x 3' space.
At your work station, use a regular cardboard box for your scrap office paper.
Place recycling bins close to office equipment such as FAX machines, computer station, photocopier.
